Thank you for this post. Fair use is something that means a lot to me as well in my work at the Center for Social Media. Your framing of the issue is well thought out and I hope that Power Ventures has a chance to work with you at some point while developing their case. Please have a look at our fair use documents sometime; we'd love to have your thoughts. We've brought together experts in the field of documentary filmmaking, online video creation and media literacy to create codes of best practices that describe norms within each field pertaining to fair use.
