In a shameful display of architectural thievery, a designer at Lucas Films ripped off the design of the Long Room Library at Trinity College in Dublin, and used it as the Jedi Archives in SW: Ep 2. The barrel ceilings, the busts, the books (cleverly replaced with non-descript digital blue light boxes), and the double-shelves. Lucas's people deny it, of course. Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame.
You be the judge:
vs.
Of course, Lucas can't be sued for copyright infringement because the Long Room Library was built between 1712-1732. Lucky for him there wasn't a Thomas Burgh Copyright Term Extension Act back then. I mean theft is theft, right? Just like shoplifting a CD from a music store.

Kinda redefines "LucasArts" eh?

This is an obvious ripoff - I thought LucasArts was supposed to be a creative bunch of the largest magnitude?
This Dublin library is very impressive indeed, but I don't think it would be too hard within the bounds of scifi or fantasy to come up with something more original.
On another note, I just read that LucasArts is opening up a studio in Singapore. Wow, I guess it's time for them to go on the cheap now, being so short on cash and all ... Send more jobs from the US to Asia, Way to go Lucas!
George Lucas, if you actually read this somehow by Googling yourself as I expect you might, your newer SW movies Episodes I & II were unspeakably bad, especially II. I'm talking the acting was bad, the special effects were bad, the plotlines were bad. Probably the only stand out scene in either of them was between Yoda and Count Dooku. Shame on you Lucas!!

How very interesting. At present I am preparing a case against Lucas for "Crimes agaist the Cinema." I am going to try him for not only plagiarism but every form of deceitful criminal behavior in the cinema.
