MoveOn has put together a perfectly edited clip nailng Donald Rumsfeld for lying to the American people about his position on Iraq as an "immediate threat" before the war.
Whether you agree or disagree with our invasion of Iraq, I think we can all agree that politicians and leaders should own up to their views and decisions, especially when challenged on them later.


Why have a video showing Rumsfeld lying?
Wouldn't it be more newsworthy to have a video of him telling the truth?

Simply put, Rumsfeld did not state (in the carefully snipped quote) that Iraq was an immediate threat, but that Iraq, among terror states, was the most immediate threat. Essentially, Rumsfeld was comparing Iraq to other terror states and Iraq won the contest for status of threatening state.
