As many of you already know, Donna Wentworth runs an insightful and provocative blog on IP issues called Copyfight. Recently, she decided to covert copyfight into a group blog and has invited myself, along with Ernie Miller, Aaron Swartz, Wendy Seltzer, and Elizabeth Rader to join her as authors. It's a fun group to be a part of, and I'm looking forward not only to the juxtaposition of ideas and stories but also to moments of kenetic debate. Blogs are very public spaces and often I think it can be scary to honestly express how you feel about issues, especially political ones. I'm hoping Copyfight will create a climate where we get to move beyond mere reporting and musing and really hash out the rights and wrongs of IP and the Internet. Come check it out if you get a chance.
p.s. For more information, see Donna's welcome message here

I'm skeptical that you'll be debating, at least not with each other, kenetically or otherwise. You guys are a group mind. Have you ever disagreed with any of them on any issue?

Actually, Ernie and I disagree all the time over file-sharing and other IP issues. We've mostly confined our debates to email to this point, which is why I think the public nature of the blog should be interesting. As for the others, we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

Congratulations! Sounds like it will be great; I've already subbed.

Cypherpunk, I'm surprised at you. You know I march to my own drummer and frequently criticize the position of EFF, for example.

Ernie and Jason are wrong. We always agree on everything.
