Here are my notes from Technorati Hacks:
* 11,000 new weblogs tracked/day
- up from 4-5000 last year
- new blog every 7.8 seconds
* 35% of blogs abandoned after 3 months
- 100,000 updates per day
- Median time from weblog post to live index: 7 minutes
* woah: Products
- What products people are talking about in real time
* woah2: BlogPower
- Zoom in to see cool stuff
* woah3: Bloglinks
- Zoom again
* Dave proposes Vote links: vote=1,0,-1. Do you like, hate, etc. the like
- Like Orkut, we need more context for whether people are good friends or just casual acquaintances. With links, links aren't necessary implicit endorsements. Can be KKK links we hate; google links we love. So there should be metadata to categorize links based on our feelings about them.
